As promised in my introduction post, here is a list of random gadgets and gizmos that are both essential and possibly on the totally-excessive-yet-necessary side. I have decided to narrow down my broad gadgets and gizmos category to helpful plane accessories, because we all know the extreme pain of a red-eye flight with a screaming child.

1. T-Pillow Neck Pillow
This amazing Neck Pillow is both comfortable and compact, not to mention stylish as anything. Now I don’t see it coming down the Victoria Secret Runway, however it does hide the drooling and any lovely neck rolls that inevitably appear with sleeping. There are some affordable, yet good quality neck pillows on eBay and Amazon.com, however GoGear sells an impressive and lovely one for only $24 PLUS multiple colours. Although not insane technology, the inside support system is fantastic providing absolute comfort. Now this is just one opinion, but this is a huge step-up from your average neck pillow. Plus that wrap is so warm and comfy!

2. Memory Foam Sleeping Mask
Now you can always get your sleeping mask with ‘Hakuna Matata’ written over your eyes, or, you can invest in an awesome sleeping mask that moulds to your face, to both shut out light and also provide extreme comfort. The amount of times I’ve whipped out this bad boy when the lights are blaring into my soul, despite it being midnight somewhere in the world, and cutting out every inch of light. I highly suggest getting one of these for any red-eye flights. You will definitely not regret this purchase. Now these masks range everywhere from $5 on eBay to $170 at Sleep Solutions. I can’t recommend the Sleep Solutions one, because let’s be real I have not got the type of money on hand, but the $9 Kogan ‘Orbis 3D Soft Padded Sleeping Eye Mask’ is an affordable yet great product. Again, this is an investment in your sleep and lack of jet lag.

3. BOSE QuietComfort QC35 Wireless Headphones II – Black
Let me tell you, this has to be one of my all time favourite products. Yes it is on the more luxurious side of things, but these headphones are worth every penny. They retail for $395 at Myers, yes I know very expensive. But these wonderful machines of silence make any flight 100x better. Not only do they completely cut out the humming of the plane – which is less of a humming and more of a soft shouting, but they also cut out the sound of people walking by you, toilets flushing, screaming children and every possible good thing you could think of on a plane. Now, I know what you’re thinking, jeez this sounds fabulous, and you’re not wrong there, but wait there’s more! These lovely contraptions also play music, I know shocker. But the sound quality is brilliant. And if you’re not a tech-savvy person, then there it also comes with a very fashionable cord! I would just absolutely recommend these headphones to anyone!

4. Travel Footrest
Picture this, just as you’re settling into falling asleep, with the help of the t-neck pillow, the memory foam sleeping mask and your noise-cancelling Bose Headphones, and then you’re feet a left in this uncomfortable position, disrupting your sleep for the entire night. Well this my friend is exactly what you need. This is one of the more possibly unnecessary products but it’s one of those would you like a 4/10 sleep with a side of sleep deprivation or a 7/10 sleep? It is just so simple, you throw it over the table tray and you can adjust its length so it’s perfect for you. And it packs up very small which is so helpful. All in all a very good product to have in your arsenal.
So there you have it, just a few helpful little products that will take your next flight from a drag to an absolute snooze-fest (in the best possible way)! If you liked this post please subscribe!’
